Growing Your Instagram and TikTok

They can work wonders for your business 🤳

Instagram and TikTok are essential platforms everyone needs to be on- and when paired together with a killer strategy can do wonders for your business. If you find Instagram and/or TikTok a bit a landline - you’re in the right place. Let’s get into it.

So What Does Growth REALLY MEAN?

The term growth can often feel like another marketing buzzword. We hear it so often, but what exactly does it mean? Most commonly, growth means simply increasing the number of followers.

But it’s not always so straight forward *mic drop*. Growth is largely determined by your business and/or social media goals. Let’s say for example you’re a small business selling handmade soaps - your business aim may be to increase the number of sales, so growth for you on socials would look at increasing website clicks and the number of orders made through your social channel.

Or let’s say you’re a fashion creator who wants to build a community of likeminded people in the industry. Your social aims may not simply be increasing followers exponentially - it would be about the quality of your community, not the quantity. For community building, increasing the number of comments and shares might be an indication of growth here.

So whilst increasing reach and followers are sure indicators of growth, it’s important to define what growth means for you based on your business/ creator goals.

Why TikTok

TikTok is alll about - queue a social media marketers our favourite word ✨ authenticity ✨. With TikTok blowing up during lockdown when we had minimal human interaction, it became a place for people to feel connected to each other. This culture of craving genuine connection has become vital for TikTok audiences.

The great thing about TikTok is you can execute a great social media plan without all the fancy, swanky filming equipment. In fact, using your phone (and even in selfie mode or 0.5 lens mode) all adds to the authentic factor, it seems more real and builds trust and connection with your audience!

Find out what being authentic looks like for you and your business goals, whether it’s behind-the-scenes content or sharing your lessons and journey.

Why Instagram

Instagram often gets a bit of a bad rep in that trends and memes seem to show up on it a little later than on TikTok. While this is (sometimes) true, there is more that goes into content that performs well on the app. Instagram is a hub for building communities and relationships and nurturing your community but more often we see exponential growth happen on TikTok

BUT, this doesn’t mean we ignore Instagram. Creators who have large audiences on TikTok are able to nurture them on IG, which can translate into more sign-us, making sales and more!
