Top Tips to Managing Multiple Social Media Accounts

Managing your socials just got a whole lot easier 🎉

With the new discourse around burnout & social media managers - this blog is for you guys. Whether you’re managing multiple accounts, or just 1, these tips will help you steer clear from the burnout. Managing multiple social media accounts can be overwhelming, but with the right tools and strategies, it can be done efficiently. Keep reading for our top tips!

Create a content calendar 📆

Content calendars are your bestie when it comes to managing and staying on track of multiple social media accounts! Develop a content calendar to easily plan and schedule your posts in advance. You can download the template we use here at Digital Influence - we got you!

Remember, there's no one way to organise your content calendar, just make sure it's set up in a way that makes sense to you. If you're starting from scratch, here are a few basics to include:

  • Every platform you plan to post to

  • Go-live dates and times (don’t forget about time zones if working internationally!)

  • Post captions & hashtags

  • Visual formats - edited videos and images

  • Links to assets (you’ll need these when scheduling content later!)

  • Tracking links (if used)

Repurpose content 🤳

Creating content for multiple social media accounts can be super time-consuming. This is where repurposing content comes into play- a great time saver. Repurposing content simply refers to reusing elements of existing content (or all of it!) Repurpose your content across different platforms by adapting it to fit each platform's format and audience - this is another reason why a content calendar is so important!

Create templates so you can easily revamp high-performing posts. Have some B-roll content? Repurpose it into a TikTok or Instagram reel by overlaying useful text to your audience/niche and adding a trending top-on sound! Had a photo that performed well? Repurpose it and whack it into a photo dump! A blog post? Summarise it and create an Instagram carousel. Get creative with it, not every piece of content has to be a ✨new ✨ piece of content.

Schedule, schedule, schedule ⏱

Regularly posting on all of your social channels requires time and effort. Manually posting takes up brain power that can be used on other tasks. This is where social media scheduling tools come into play. The good news is some platforms have added scheduling to their in-app features. For example, Instagram now has a ‘scheduled content’ feature where you can schedule up to 25 posts a day. However, there are some limitations, as you have to have a professional account and you can only use the mobile app to do so.

If you’d prefer a tool where you can schedule all your content in one place, Later is a great scheduler where you can plan and schedule content across multiple platforms in one dashboard. Scheduling in advance means you can spend less time manually posting, and more energy on your brand, content creation and building your online community. A win-win in our books!

Secure your accounts 🚨

The last thing you want is to lose access to your or your client’s accounts. This one is super overlooked but so important- make sure your accounts are as secure as possible. Make sure every one of your social media accounts is secure from hackers. Use strong passwords (and also change them regularly), enable two-factor verification, and limit access to your accounts. Store your passwords safely, Last Pass is a great free tool to securely store your passwords in one place.

Automate tasks ⌨️

Automation is your friend! Keep an eye out for opportunities to streamline your processes, especially for repetitive tasks. Need captions for an Instagram reel or TikTok? Automate it- use CapCut auto caption mode. Instagram & TikTok both have in-app options for automated captions too. Use Grammarly to spell check as you go when writing social copy. Need inspo for content ideas or some research ideas? Use an AI such as ChatGPT or Perplexcity AI.
