Content Ideas for When You Have Creative Block

As social media marketers, we’ve all faced that frustrating moment when inspiration seems to vanish. Creativity ebbs and flows, and creative block is a totally normal part of the process, but don’t worry, we got you! Here’s our 10 timeless evergreen content ideas that can help you break through the fog and keep your social media channels lively when experiencing a block.

Behind-The-Scenes Content

People love to see what happens behind the scenes. Share candid snapshots from your workspace, team brainstorming sessions, or product development stages. For example, Fenty Beauty recently shared a Reel showing a customer finding her perfect concealer shade, blending education with relatability.

Photographer @hmdfilm is known for showcasing their final results, but has also interviewed a few BTS videos showing her process and giving tips to her followers. A great way to use B-Roll and a good voiceover!

FAQ’s

Turn frequently asked questions into engaging posts. Create infographics, short videos, or carousel posts that address these queries. This approach adds value for your audience while establishing you as an authority in your field. A good thing about FAQ’s- as your business / product grows, FAQ’s may change. Even if you’ve already created this content, they may need updating, and this may be a good chance to assess and update them - and create some content!

Founder of @thestackworld Sharmadean Reid, explains the apps FAQ’s in a talking style video. This can also be done in a carousel format- depending on your branding strategy and social goals!

User Generated Content

An overlooked one in our opinion- but the power of UGC can be endless. Tap into your audience’s creativity by showcasing their content. This not only provides fresh material but also fosters community engagement, brand loyalty and genuine connection. This is a good one for a product based brand - such as clothing, jewellery, skincare etc, but can be used across an array of industries alike.

Skincare brand @topicals have featured a UGC carousel featuring a customer using their product - fostering community engagement and building genuine relationships.

Industry News and Trends

Thought leadership, popular culture + content all in one? Winner! Keep tabs with industry trends and news, and react fast- this shows your audience that you are on the pulse, and a spearhead in your industry- a pillar that can be super important in organic social media marketing depending on your goals.

This one is more of a reactive marketing idea, but can be useful if something related to your industry comes up- for example an event, new updates or news, or popular culture trends. Become a trusted source for industry updates by breaking down complex news into digestible content.

Fashion magazine @peerlessmagazine stay on the pulse with industry news - here they’ve highlighted the Victoria Secret Fashion Show - an industry staple event.

Employee Highlights

Showcase the people behind your brand to humanize your business. Share employee stories, accomplishments, or fun facts about team members. This not only creates relatable content but also boosts morale within your team. This may not work for every industry, and depends on your branding and perception online - but if this aligns with you it’s a great way to connect with your audience.

@joeandthejuice here have featured their employees in a new store opening - a great way to highlight the people that make it all happen!
